DEACONS’ MINISTRY

Our Deacons serve the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church, doing the benevolence work, visiting the sick, being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation for the purposes of freeing the Pastor to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word, promoting unity within the church, and facilitating the spread of the gospel. Deacons must meet the qualifications as stated in I Timothy 3:8-13. 

MOTHERS’ MINISTRY

Our Mothers’ ministry mission is to inspire young women, encourage, educate, and change lives by communicating God’s truth to them, and to raise up true worshipers of God. To pray for the Pastor and the church daily.  Our mothers assist with baptisms and Holy Communion. Cooperate with the Pastor and Deacons in carrying out the Pastoral ministry of the church, especially in connection with calling on the aged and sick.  

TRUSTEE MINISTRY

Our Trustees are legal agents of the congregation and have the care, custody, and control of all real and personal property, subject to the direction of the congregation and the church board.  The trustees provide stability and continuity in legal and financial matters essential to the successful ongoing operation of the Church across successive officeship, congregational boards, and Pastoral ministries. They must have a love for the church, have a growing and deepening spiritual life, integrity, good judgment, business experience, and capability. They must actively participate in the life of the congregation and lack possessiveness concerning Church property. 

PASTOR’S RELATIONS MINISTRY

The Pastor’s Relations Ministry is a service ministry that provides support to the Pastor.  This ministry, working with and through the congregation and lay members of the church, meets the needs of the Pastor with prayer and personal, physical, and financial support and/or encouragement. The ministry’s goals are achieved by hosting various fundraising events at the church, including the Pastor’s Anniversary and Pre-Anniversary services and events.  

MUSIC MINISTRY

Our Music ministry calls for diversity in differing styles of worship music, such as hymns and spirituals, along with traditional and contemporary gospel.  Our choirs will address the needs of a diverse audience and be a symbol of the coming together of all people of this church to worship and serve together. There are options for every age; Our music ministry includes the following: Praise Team, Voices of Praise (VOP), Male Chorus, Youth Choir.  Let us remember that music is ministry and ministry is service to God and to humanity for Kingdom building!  

USHER MINISTRY

We are soul winners for Christ.  Guided by the Holy Spirit, we maintain order in the house of the Lord.  We greet our members and guests with Christian warmth, sincere smiles, and promote a spirit of worship.  For our witness is not only by word of mouth, but by our actions and our Love for Christ.  For we realize that the love of Christ, which shines through us, can penetrate a sinner’s heart, causing true repentance.  We keep watch, providing a level of security before and during the worship service.  

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Our Christian Education Ministry involves the administration and coordination of programs or strategies to facilitate the spiritual growth and discipleship of believers into Christ-likeness.  Listening to a sermon in the worship service is not enough to facilitate true growth. Discipleship also needs to be happening on the personal level, one-on-one with fellow believers, in small groups, and in mid-size groups. Each of these levels offers a different dynamic to the growth process.  Our Christian Education ministry includes the following:  Bible Study, Sunday School, New Members Class, ESY Scholarship, Vacation Bible School, Conferences, and Retreats.

PRAISE DANCE MINISTRY

Our Praise Dance Ministry’s mission is to glorify God through dance and to communicate the divine message of the good news of Jesus Christ.  It is a unique and God-ordained expression of our relationship with Him, fostering faith and encouraging the congregation. The ministry aims to create an atmosphere of worship, prepare the congregation for the Word of God, and lead them into His presence. It also seeks to bring deliverance, give breakthroughs, and break down strongholds in both the saved and unsaved lives. (currently evaluating this ministry).

 MEDIA MINISTRY

The Media Ministry serves to share the message of the Gospel and promote Christian values. Its primary goals include evangelism, discipleship, and community building among believers, transcending geographic and cultural barriers. Our media ministry brings a sensible and clear sound to the sanctuary of St.James Church.  We want to stimulate your spirit, whether it is through devotion, prayer, song, or the Spoken Word of God, to encourage you to spread the Word to those in your world.  Through the work of this ministry, our services are livestreamed and can be viewed on YouTube every Sunday and at other times when services are livestreamed. This ministry continues to be a blessing to our sick, in-home care, and nursing home members and followers. CHRISTIAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP

The mission of our CYF ministry is to respond to the needs of youth for relationships, events, and opportunities where they can be themselves, discern their gifts, and be empowered to be effective leaders and servants as called by God. Guided by the belief that every young individual possesses innate gifts and potential bestowed upon them by God, CYF is committed to nurturing spiritual growth, equipping young leaders, and promoting transformation within the hearts and lives of our youth.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN FELLOWSHIP

The purpose of Disciples Women is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ and to provide a channel through which women in the congregation may be joined in faith, fellowship and friendship to exemplify christian values in the church body and throughout the community.  The CWF, which we named “Women of Greatness” (WOG) meet once a quarter, as announced.

CHRISTIAN MEN FELLOWSHIP

The purpose of Disciples Men is to minister to the unique needs of men in the church, enabling them to fulfill their potential as servants of God, strengthening the total ministry of the church. The ministry is focused on helping men grow in their faith, develop healthy relationships with other men, and become better leaders in their homes, churches, and communities. Ultimately, men’s ministry is about equipping men to live out their faith in a way that is authentic, transformative, and impactful. It’s about helping men to become the leaders, husbands, fathers, and friends that God has called them to be.

SINGLES MINISTRY

The Singles ministry serves as a vital component of church life, providing single adults with opportunities for spiritual growth, community engagement, and personal development. We aim to create an environment where individuals can thrive in their faith and build meaningful relationships with others who share similar life experiences. A significant aspect of the ministry is helping individuals find their identity and purpose in Christ, rather than in their marital status. This perspective emphasizes that fulfillment and wholeness come from a relationship with God. 

COUPLES FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY

The Couples ministry’s vision is to inspire couples to participate and support one another spiritually, socially, culturally, and intellectually. Our goal is to help individuals grow together. To bring together the married couples in the church through fellowship in a well-structured Christian environment and to help couples grow in their faith and strengthen their relationships.
